Dr. Steven Chudik is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine. A US News & World Report Top Doctor, he is recognized for his expertise in arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery and for the innovative techniques he has developed for complex joint injuries.
As an active researcher and surgeon, Dr. Chudik continues to develop minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures, instruments, and implants to improve outcomes for his patients. His work has produced eight orthopaedic patents and surgical techniques adopted by other surgeons worldwide.

Dr. Chudik specializes in shoulder, knee, and sports-related injuries, treating both surgical and non-surgical conditions. His practice includes rotator cuff and labral injuries, shoulder instability, ACL and other ligament injuries, meniscus and cartilage damage, fractures, and complex revision surgery. He also treats work-related and accident injuries.
Do I need a referral to see Dr. Chudik?
Most patients do not need a referral to schedule an appointment. Some insurance plans and workers’ compensation cases require referral authorization — our scheduling team will confirm the specifics when you call.
How quickly can I be seen?
New patients can typically be scheduled within one to two weeks, sooner for acute injuries. Work-related injuries are prioritized once the workers’ compensation paperwork is in place. Call 630-324-0402 to schedule.
Does Dr. Chudik perform arthroscopic surgery?
Yes. Dr. Chudik is a pioneer in arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery and uses arthroscopic techniques whenever the clinical situation allows. He has developed multiple arthroscopic procedures now in use internationally.
Does the practice handle workers' compensation cases?
Yes. Dr. Chudik treats work-related injuries, is a certified independent medical examiner, and has worked with workers’ compensation attorneys, nurse case managers, and insurance adjusters for more than ten years. Ask for the workers’ compensation coordinator when you call.
Where are the offices located?
Dr. Chudik sees patients at four offices across the western Chicago suburbs: Westmont, Western Springs, Hinsdale, and Downers Grove. The Westmont office includes on-site high-field MRI and X-ray imaging.
